Brian Chien
Robotics Master's Student at Johns Hopkins University
I'm interested in learning-based navigation of mobile robots. Currently, I'm working on quadcopter autonomy at JHU's Autonomous Control & Exploration Lab as a graduate research assistant. I also have experience in the automotive industry from working at Ford as a manufacturing engineering intern.

Projects
Learning-Based Quadcopter Obstacle Avoidance
Researching the performance of neural networks on quadcopter obstacle avoidance.
Mobile Robot Reinforcement Learning with Isaac Lab
Development of Isaac Lab environments to train mobile robots on navigation tasks.
Manipulator RRT Motion Planner
Development of the RRT algorithm from scratch for a robot arm.
Electric Vehicle Battery Plant Internship
Manufacturing engineering responsibilities at Ford's Glendale EV battery plant.
